Workspaces and signing in

Open app.refinepoint.com and sign in. RefinePoint uses a single sign-on service, so the same account works for the web app and the Airtable extension. Sessions renew themselves while you work; after a long time away you are asked to sign in again.

Everything in RefinePoint lives in a workspace: data sources, reconciliations, rules, lookup tables, members and settings. A workspace usually stands for one organisation. People can belong to several workspaces, with a different role in each, and switch between them from the top bar.

Your personal workspace. When you first sign in, you have a workspace of your own to try RefinePoint with your own files. Nothing in it is shared until you invite someone.

  1. Choose Set up your workspace (it appears once your plan is ready).
  2. Enter the organisation name, for example Acme Finance Ltd.
  3. Choose a short code: 2 to 20 lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens, such as acme-finance. It identifies the workspace in addresses and in the API.
  4. Pick your industry and, if you like, add a description.

You become the workspace’s Owner. Next, invite your team and set up workspace settings.

By invitation. An admin invites you by email. Open the link in the email and sign in with that email address. If the link says it is not valid, has expired, or was already used, ask an admin to send a new invitation.

By code. If you already have access to a workspace and know its code, open the workspace menu in the top bar, choose Link workspace, and enter the code.

Open the workspace name in the top bar and choose another workspace under Switch workspace. Each workspace keeps its own data and settings; what you see changes with your role there.
